The Product Management function drives company’s revenue growth, profit margin, and market share through market-driven strategies, new and enhanced products, and effective execution. The Vice President, Product Management utilizes industry, customer, financial, operational, and competitive intelligence to qualify market needs and quantify opportunities for growth, both near and longer term. In preparing to address the most compelling of these opportunities, the Vice President, Product Management must articulate market requirements and formulate comprehensive business plans – the product strategy - to address those requirements for all new products and services as well as enhancements to existing products and services. The business plan – which provides guidance on resource requirements, strategic fit, pricing, time-to-market, customer demand creation and engagement, competitive positioning, and ROI – serves as the framework and scorecard for product development and lifecycle management, from launch to end-of-life. The Vice President, Product Management is an outspoken champion for Sphera solutions, winning support from internal stakeholders while driving market awareness and customer engagement in partnership with the Sphera marketing and sales teams.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Develops product line and product strategies that articulate market needs, market potential and segmentation, competitive landscape, solution offering(s), packaging, pricing, value position, differentiation, and product roadmap.
  • Guides market awareness activities and synthesizes all inputs into comprehensive understanding of industry problems, competitive landscape, buyer and user personas, and emerging trends in order to inform strategy development, optimization and execution.
  • Develops and coordinates commercial launch and product development lifecycles with key business stakeholders.
  • Provides operational oversight of a product line and product level revenue and expense performance to inform short-, medium-, and long-term product plans and drive business optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Marketing to develop, execute, and optimize marketing plans.
  • Leads evaluation of build, buy and partner alternatives in fulfillment of for solution strategy, in collaboration with business stakeholders, and makes appropriate recommendations to drive business growth and transformation.
  • Cultivates product and operational innovation based on emerging market trends, new technologies, and best practices.
  • Acts as the key business leader, evangelist, and primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding the product vision, strategy, financial Performance, and new product development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a Business-related discipline
  • Master’s in Business Administration, desired
  • 5+ years of progressive management experience required with a background spanning any of the following areas: Management Consulting, Strategic Planning, or Product Management
  • 2+ years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, or Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), strongly preferred
  • Must have proven track record of effectively interacting with senior executive level management.
  • Extensive strategic experience, preferably gained in Strategy Consulting or product management at a software company
  • Significant experience in strategic planning, product development, or marketing
  • Demonstrable experience of leadership, team development, and driving change
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills

Pay:

$224,000.00 - $336,000.00 + Eligible for Variable Compensation Plan

Commensurate with relevant qualifications and experience
