Role Description
Product managers set the vision for our growing family of products. We’re responsible for guiding multidisciplinary teams toward a common goal: shipping high quality products and creating customer value. As advocates for both our users and our business, the best product managers balance a range of functional perspectives and empower their teams to do great, high impact work.
As a Staff Product Manager, you are working diligently to build the essential product and platform capabilities to scale and unify Dropbox's suite of products. You will lead multiple teams in defining new products and platforms that have a company-wide impact. This includes setting the product vision and strategy, implementing your roadmap, and iterating quickly based on learnings. You will collaborate with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to deliver innovative consumer and enterprise platform offerings, supporting our AI/ML-powered Dash products.
We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial Product Management leader to drive innovation and execute initiatives within the Platform, Infrastructure, and Productivity across the company. We value agility paired with exceptional product thinking, craftsmanship, execution rigor, and grit. You will partner with a world-class team of engineers, engineering managers, product managers, technical program managers, designers, data scientists, and domain experts in Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Security to solve complex customer challenges.
This year, our focus is to position Dropbox as a center of innovation, where content becomes the essential utility for knowledge and collaboration among knowledge workers by creating magical, reliable, and delightful experiences.
Responsibilities
- Own with High Agency: Take extreme ownership of capabilities, platforms, and experiments end-to-end. - Understand the Customer: Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, research, design, and other cross-functional partners to deeply understand the needs of both internal developers and external customers. Use these insights to shape platform strategy and prioritize roadmaps, ensuring our infrastructure, platforms, APIs, and shared services are reliable, scalable, and extensible — driving increased gross margin and enabling business growth in both the short and long term.
- Drive Results: Take a critical role in navigating through challenges that arise during product execution. This includes making strategic trade-offs, forecasting staffing needs, managing risks, and maintaining open and clear communication with all internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of your roadmap.
- Future Vision Development: Envision and develop the future of the platforms, experiences, and integrations. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for innovation and ensuring our products remain at the forefront of the industry.
- Market Understanding: Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic planning and decision-making. Your ability to understand and anticipate market needs will be key in positioning our products for success and identifying new growth opportunities.
