The Role:

We've built a product users love, but to get the benefit of Monarch, users have to find out we exist, sign up, and successfully onboard. As a Tech Lead for our Growth team, you will lead technical direction while managing and mentoring a team of engineers focused on building product experiences that help Monarch reach more users and guide them through the path to financial success.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers while remaining hands-on with code and architecture

  • Drive technical strategy and execution for growth initiatives aligned with business goals

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, marketers and data analysts to improve acquisition, onboarding, and retention flows

  • Design and implement infrastructure to support A/B testing and rapid experimentation

  • Analyze data and user behavior to inform technical decisions and refine growth strategies

  • Develop technical roadmaps and guide the team in delivering high-quality solutions

  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team

  • Balance technical debt with feature development to ensure sustainable growth

  • Participate in recruiting and hiring to build a diverse and talented growth engineering team

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in a technical leadership role

  • Strong coding skills in Python, TypeScript, and React

  • Experience mentoring and developing engineers

  • Technical vision and ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural goals

  • Strong product intuition and a passion for building consumer experiences users love, backed by strong quantitative and qualitative understanding of product experiences

  • Experience designing and implementing A/B testing frameworks, experimentation infrastructure, and robust internal analytics

  • Bias towards action, and good instinct to decide on the appropriate level of rigor/effort for experiments (when to cut corners, when to invest for the future)

  • Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical colleagues (including marketing, product, design, and data science)

  • (Nice to have) Experience building consumer subscription products

  • (Nice to have) Experience with fintech

  • (Nice to have) Experience with analytics tooling
