JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Global EHS Director, the Senior Regional EHS Manager will lead the administration of program and initiatives for the organization at multiple sites in the Americas region. This includes the development, implementation and evaluation of EHS initiatives related to occupational safety, health, accident prevention, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, safe work practices, training and implementation of best EHS practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates EHS operations in a manner which produces a customer focused and cost-effective operations dedicated to upholding and furthering public safety
  • Ensures compliance with regional environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Responsible for disseminating legal and regulatory changes to the organization.
  • Administers EHS training programs to meet regulatory compliance and company requirements.
  • Responsible for leading and developing a team of EHS professionals which includes assigning projects, defining accountability, performance management, safety administration, performance appraisal, staff counseling, and career progression counseling in a timely and effective manner.
  • Responsible for overseeing the submittal of all applicable regulatory reports within the region on time.
  • Operates within a budget as directed by the EHS Director.
  • Read and follow the UL Solutions Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, or related field required.
  • Related master's degree or Certified Safety Professional (Board of Certified Professionals), Certified Industrial Hygienist (Board for Global EHS Credentialing) or Professional Engineer license required.
  • Minimum of (8) years directly related EHS program management experience
  • Minimum (4) years of people/project experience.
  • Travel 10-15% required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position requires periodic travel by car and/or airline (or other public transportation) to other UL Solutions sites as assigned and perform in-person audits/ inspections/ investigations in a wide variety of laboratory and office environments. Flexibility to work non-traditional business hours as needed. Travel required: up to 10-15%.
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment is required.
  • Ability to stand and walk extensively (concrete floors) for up to 2 hour periods, several times a day is required.
  • Ability to move safely over uneven terrain; ascend/descend stairs/ladders/scaffolding required.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs assisted or unassisted, pushing; pulling; bending; reaching; handling; stooping; working in tight
  • spaces and working in hot/cold environments will occasionally be required in lab, office and outside environments.
  • Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond quickly.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required, while performing select duties.


Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $125,700 to $167,600 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
