JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Market Data Analyst's primary responsibility is the maintenance and update of various CRSP databases with a focus on overall data quality and accuracy. The Senior Market Data Analyst serves as a role model and demonstrating effective teamwork are a large part of this responsibility. Additional responsibilities may include improving/creating internal documentation, updating databases for historical research, assisting Client Services and customers with data-related inquiries, aiding Market Data Analysts in the completion of assigned tasks, and supporting Managers and Project Leaders as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Executes update procedures for assigned databases. Can effectively run updates with minimal supervision.
- Performs multiple and complex assignments under the limited direction of a manager or team leader.
- Has full maintenance and operational responsibility for a single system or for the integration of multiple subsystems.
- Works as an individual contributor or member of a team.
- Serves as a role model and leader for Market Data Analysts in area. May be called upon to provide training to other employees.
- Understands update methodology and how the process affects the underlying data.
- Contributes suggestions for data or process enhancements.
- Responsible for the research and validation of data outliers, as identified in update procedures and historical research.
- Effectively collaborates and coordinates with the Managers, Project Leaders, Client Services and other Staff during the update process, historical research projects, and/or client inquiries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or accounting is required.
- Three (3) years of industry experience required.
- Proficiency in financial theory and terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to satisfactorily perform at least two (2) CRSP update processes (e.g., Stock, Bond, Compustat, Mutual Fund, REIT) with minimal supervision or assistance OR experienced in performing similar functions while working for another financial database product provider required.
- Ability to satisfactorily perform two (2) CRSP support functions (e.g., Distributions, Bulletins, Returns, etc.) OR experienced in performing similar functions while working for another financial database product provider required.
- Demonstrated ability to satisfactorily perform two (2) support functions OR experienced in performing similar functions while working for another financial information/database product provider required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple, complex assignments under limited direction.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish assignments, either as an individual contributor or as a member of a team, based on their experience and technical knowledge of systems and subsystems.
- Demonstrated ability to provide training to other employees.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and achieve positive results, share information, provide data, furnish guidance, and discuss assignment status within the immediate work unit.
- Demonstrated ability to develop basic SQL queries.
- Demonstrated ability to use MS Office tools (including Word, Access, and Excel) at least at an intermediate level.
- Experience in answering client data questions and making data edits as directed by coordinators or supervisors.
- Experience in collaborating with programmers and other analysts on projects and activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a team.
- Careful attention to detailed data entry.
- A commitment to product quality, the ability to multitask, organizational skills, and positive energy are also valued.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with data quality assurance and quality control.
- Experience with market data.
- CFA level 1 or higher
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
- Minimal travel required; however, candidates should be open to occasional travel as needed to support business objectives.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The setting for this role will include office settings. Exposure to controlled temperature environments, both hot and cold, is to be expected.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, demonstrate hand and finger dexterity in the course of their work, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The expected physical workload is classified as:

Salary Range = $35.92- $47.00 per hour USD Annually + Benefits
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
