Job Description:
The Senior Director of Engineering Execution will lead the Delivery Office Team for our Commercial Products and Platforms (CPP) Organization. As the Sr. Director, you will manage a large team of engineers, defining technology competencies and developing the standards and skillsets required to deliver our consumer and restaurant business strategies. You will also create and drive the execution strategy to improve overall engineering and quality excellence, including consistent practices and processes that ensure agility, speed, quality, and innovation of technology delivery in close partnership with both internal and external partners. This leader will direct and lead engineering resources to ensure we are able to execute and deliver on our most important technology and enterprise initiatives.
What you will be doing:

  • Lead a large team (200+) of engineers located in the US, Mexico and remote.
  • Create and operationalize the best practices that engineers leverage for delivery and quality execution.
  • Lead the development/refinement and adoption of software development processes that result in high quality products delivered on predictable timelines.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance engineering efficiency and product delivery speed.
  • Manage the growth and development of engineers at all levels, proactively considering workforce planning and ensuring healthy talent pipeline from early talent through senior engineers.
  • Lead DevOps practices for CPP.
  • Ensure the appropriate tools and technologies are leveraged for engineering and testing.
  • Lead the rollout of automation for testing across consumer and restaurant platforms.
  • Recruit engineering talent to our US and Mexico locations.
  • Ensure that the product development lifecycle is governed and managed.
  • Partner with senior leaders across product, segment and market teams.
  • Ensure engineers are aligned to the priorities identified to deliver funded, road mapped work.
  • Manage budget effectively and identify cost savings initiatives to improve spend efficiency.
  • Adopt and move the organization (technical, non-technical, and vendor teams) to an agile and product methodology and develop appropriate critical metrics to measure efficiency.
  • Build a culture of data driven and customer-first decision making, providing the organization with visual quality metrics that pinpoint the health of execution levers and process including the delivery of projects.
  • Help identify and support the development of the next generation of technology leaders for the organization.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies impacting software development including the use of Gen AI to improve developer productivity and quality. Evaluate and quantify benefits and make data driven recommendations on adoption of new tools and technologies.
  • Foster collaboration and clear communication for a distributed team, intentionally cultivating a positive, inclusive culture that supports engagement and innovation across all locations.

The expected salary range for this role is $222,650 - $289,440
The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we may also consider your experience, and other job-related factors.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or related major.
  • Experience leading a technology transformation in a large, corporate, and matrixed environments.
  • Experience building and scaling an engineering organization.
  • 5+ years of experience managing large (100+) engineering teams.
  • Experience leading a team located across multiple locations and time zones.
  • 10+ years of experience working with digital customer-facing products.
  • 5+ years working in an agile and product team environment.
  • Project management mentality along with a strong strategic and analytics approach.
  • Experience leading teams in the scope of software development process, technology architecture, back-end monitoring tools like New Relic and Kibana, A/B testing tools, Tableau and other data reporting clients.
  • Tactical experience as a developer (engineer) working across multiple languages and products (iOS, Android, Java, C#, and .net).
  • Effective communicator that can foster collaboration across teams.

  • Master's in Business Administration, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • QSR industry experience.
