We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our fast-growing startup at CoinFlip! As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision making and developing innovative solutions to optimize our analytics infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data and software engineers, and product managers to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of our data systems. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, process, and transform large amounts of structured and unstructured data from valuable sources. 

  • Design, build, and optimize data models and databases to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of data for analytical purposes. 

  • Perform data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in the data. 

  • Build and maintain data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to present insights and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Conduct data quality assessments and implement governance practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the data. 

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Data Analyst, or similar role, preferably in the fintech or crypto industry. 

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g. Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra). 

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Java for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting.  

  • Efficiently retrieve and process data from various API endpoints to support application functionality and data analysis. 

  • Experience with big data technologies and frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP), Orchestraction tools (Airflow, Dagster), GitLab, DBT, Terraform, Liquibase. 

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and dimensional modeling. 

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, d3.js) is a plus. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets. 

Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 USD
