We’re seeking a Senior Accountant responsible for assisting in all areas related to the cryptocurrency accounting process, including domestic and international regions. This position will be responsible for booking the monthly journal entries, preparing rollforwards, developing controls and process improvements, consolidating international entities, and assisting in researching and resolving complex accounting issues as they arise. The Senior Accountant will also collaborate with various teams across the organization such as the Operations, FP&A, and Data Analytics Teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy of source data

  • Enter data into NetSuite via journal entry or other transaction types as necessary

  • Assist Financial Reporting Manager in preparation of financial statements and other internal reporting on a monthly basis

  • Analyze and document revenue recognition of new business lines under ASC 606

  • Review standard accounting areas prepared by staff accountants including but not limited to fixed assets, prepaids, and accrual

  • Coordinating with international CPAs to complete month end close for foreign entities

  • Obtain and analyze data from multiple sources to consolidate, develop into schedules that will be used as support documents for the month-end close process

  • Utilize data visualization and business intelligence tools to make processes more efficient

  • Documenting internal controls and processes for accurate and timely financial reporting

  • Collaborating with Accounting & Finance and various other departments on a daily basis

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • CPA licensed

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field

  • 4+ years of industry or public accounting experience

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with a working knowledge of Tableau and ERP Systems (NetSuite is ideal)

  • Fundamental understanding of cryptocurrency/blockchain 

  • Intellectually curious, demonstrated ability to improve and implement processes to maximize efficiency

  • Self-starter, strong organizational skills, detail oriented

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship

  • Ability to work in our Chicago office

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with NetSuite, Alteryx, and Tableau 

  • General passion and knowledge of fintech and crypto 

Base Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 USD
