Job Description
The SALES ENGINEER is an integral person in helping our customer’s vision for an automated storage solution from Movu US come to life and win their business by developing competitive quotes. The Sales Engineer also supports the transition to project execution when the sale is won.
As our SALES ENGINEER, you…
- determine the feasibility of any assigned projects and develop a proposal of efficient technical solutions based on the integration of Movu Robotics systems within our customers’ warehouses
- work with our Sales team to determine customer requirements and design the technical as well as the commercial offer
- analyze our customers’ logistics data
- ensure proper dimensioning of the selected solutions
- participate in concept design and simulations in collaboration with our Sales team and sales partners (integrators)
- supply project schedules and calculations
- are responsible for design tools including testing and documentation
- collaborate with team members from other departments and ensure that all assigned bids are reviewed for feasibility, pricing, timelines, liabilities, risks, and legal compliance
- attend customer meetings in a supporting or presenting function
Qualifications
This lets us know you’re up for the job
- Multiple years of engineering experience in a Pre-Sales capacity in the material handling field
- Bachelor’s in Engineering such as Automation, Robotics, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
- Understanding of how to optimize warehouse operations
- Experience in Material Handling Automation equipment, preferably pallet shuttles/conveyors, AS/RS, and/or AMRs
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D or comparable software is required
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or comparable software is a plus
- Occasional travel to customer sites to research, collect and report information about the application (less than 10%)
- If remote, occasional travel to our Romeoville, IL office (2-4 days at a time)
- For onboarding and training, if remote, travel for training and onboarding to our Romeoville, IL office and regardless of your location, to our headquarters in Belgium (usually no more than 1 week at a time)
- We work closely with our European colleagues. The morning hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones. Most people start their workday at 8 am CST and some love to start even earlier so they can wrap up earlier at the end of the day. Early bird gets the worm, as the saying goes.
