Morningstar is looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on, and analytical marketer to join our Performance Marketing team under the B2B Central Marketing team. You'll help bring brand, cross-portfolio and product marketing digital campaigns to life for our B2B business through paid media, primarily managing our paid search and programmatic channels. This role is an exciting opportunity to lead some of our highest impact channels and directly contribute to essential business goals, generating qualified web traffic, lead volume and pipeline creation.
You'll work with teams throughout Morningstar-Brand and Portfolio, Demand Generation, Product, Sales, Design, and others-to launch and optimize digital campaigns across channels. Outside of Morningstar, you will help manage our agency partner, LQ, who will manage day-to-day operations of our paid search efforts. The ideal candidate is up-to-date on the latest digital and search engine marketing (SEM) trends, has a strong technical background in the ad platforms and has a mindset of analytics and optimization. You have a passion for creating and executing multi-channel campaigns that drive measurable results.
This position is based out of our Chicago office, and hybrid attendance is required.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage paid search media efforts - including strategy development, execution, testing, and reporting, for strategic products - overseeing paid search strategy and implementation for Morningstar's B2B Businesses.
  • Create and execute strategies, for evergreen or go-to-market initiatives, that drive new customer acquisition, database growth and/or revenue through digital channels, like SEM, Programmatic, Display, and Media buying.
  • Collaborate with our paid search agency partner, aligning their workload and resources to deliver on strategic initiatives.
  • Perform account audits and ROI analysis and report all data findings, as well as identify strategies for continual improvement.
  • Routinely manage our in-house campaigns, ad groups and keywords for optimal performance.
  • Bring subject matter expertise into all our thinking and planning. Stay current on digital marketing best practices and find the bridges to apply them.
  • Understanding of offline conversion tracking and custom bid models. Track lead progression through the sales funnel (through CRM and marketing automation platform) and make recommendations for improvements for increased sales conversion rate.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously evolve best practices for digital media campaign management
  • Collaborate on data, measurement & reporting strategies to demonstrate a clear ROI from our efforts. Create accurate forecasts and projections of ROI for future campaign planning.
  • Maintain media budget and billing, provide budget recommendations to maximize performance
  • Ensure Morningstar's brand is well represented across digital properties


Qualifications:

  • 3-4+ years of paid search and or relevant digital marketing experience
  • A history of developing business-driving integrated Paid Search and Media programs for clients ranging from mid-market to enterprise B2B
  • Deep understanding of web analytics and conversion optimization
  • Hands-on experience in Google AdWords and Microsoft Ads, and other programmatic ad buying platforms
  • Ability to solve problems and identify opportunities using data & analytics, market research, and strategic frameworks
  • Experience managing complex, multi-platform digital marketing strategies across clients
  • Experience working within a content management system, analytics tool, A/B testing tool, and marketing automation tool. Technologies available are Bizible, 6sense, BrightEdge, Google Analytics, Google Optimize and Eloqua.
  • A deep appreciation for the role of creative and design in marketing effectiveness
  • Data-driven approach to marketing challenges
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Base Salary Compensation Range
$65,591.00 - 111,500.00 USD Annual
Total Cash Compensation Range
$72,150.00 - 122,650.00 USD Annual
