What You'll Do:

This role is accountable for contributing to the Agile transformation across the enterprise. This is a leadership role that will drive operational success and continuous improvement around Agile methodologies.  This role requires experience in Agile frameworks with practical experience in an Agile role at both the program and team levels with demonstrated ability to adopt Agile principles, mindset, practices, and methodologies. This role requires previous people management and team leadership experience.  This role provides management and leadership and will drive the team to teach, mentor and advise teams, product owners, business stakeholders on agile practices and design strategies for delivery teams to improve and mature their use of Agile principles and practices.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

  • Drive efforts to guide and coach delivery teams to self-organize and achieve objectives, without assigning or dictating the work.

  • Directly manage a team of Scrum Masters deployed across several product teams and partner with managed service provider

  • Hold Scrum masters accountable to their roles and responsibilities and create a governance structure to monitor performance.

  • Partners with the group director and senior leaders across the organization to develop best practices and evolve Agile capabilities with the changing needs of the business.

  • Be responsible for “maturing” Agile teams/squads.

  • Provide support to the Product Owner and Delivery Team, and lead by example.

  • Participate in and lead discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution.

  • Drive a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised and resolved.

  • Be responsible for identification and mitigation of project risks

  • Participate in and lead regular assessments of Agile Maturity and use the results to guide teams to improved performance

  • Drive internal and external communication, improving transparency, and information radiation

Qualifications:

  • [Required] Understands Agile values and principles and can guide and coach teams, and the organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices

  • [Required] Experience with agile transformations, building Agile teams and implementing Agile

  • [Required] Experience with setting and implementing Agile specific metrics and KPI’s

  • [Required] Previous experience leading scrum masters and driving career development of direct reports

  • [Required] Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (diverse team sizes, organizations, cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)

  • [Required] Direct experience working with Scaled Agile (SAFe) organizations

  • [Required] Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.

  • [Required] Knowledge of other agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.

  • [Required] The proven ability to be self-motivated and a self-starter

  • [Required] Ability to work under minimal supervision

  • [Required] Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • [Required] Strong servant leader mindset

  • [Required] Assist with response to regulatory audits regarding process flows

  • [Required] Experience in release planning and coordination at scale

  • [Required] Demonstrate sound judgment and strong reasoning skills as well as good analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • [Required] Ability to review large amounts of data and analyze, spot trends and provide analysis and insights

  • [Required] Experience consolidating data from multiple data sources

Technical Skills:

  • [Required] Experience with Agile PLM tools like JIRA, Portfolio for JIRA

  • [Required] Proven ability to work with toolsets including, but not limited to Jira, MS Project, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • [Required] Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and IT systems design

  • [Required] Familiarity within a ticketing system such as ServiceNow

Education and/or Experience:

  • [Required] Bachelor’s degree in information technology or 7+ years equivalent work experience

  • [Required] Advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum principles and practices

  • [Required] Hands on experience in leading and managing agile teams

  • [Required] Experience as a Scrum Master for a minimum of 5 years for a software development team that was applying Agile/Scrum principles and practices

  • [Required] 5+ years of experience with JIRA

  • [Required] Ability to anticipate issues based on experience to help the team avoid or resolve the issues

Certificates or Licenses:

  • [Preferred] Scrum Master Certified preferred

  • [Preferred] PMP certified preferred

Compensation

  • The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
  • In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
  • We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package as noted on www.theocc.com/careers
  • All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.

Salary Range

$129,200.00 - $169,800.00

Incentive Range

8% to 15%

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
