Job Description:
What You'll Do
This role is responsible for operational risk oversight activities specific to a respective business line or corporate function. This includes advising, assessing, and effectively challenging all operational risks and mitigants for the specific business and their impact on both risk appetite and the goals and objectives of the business.

  • Maintain, enhance, socialize, and execute on the Artificial Intelligence Risk Management Framework across the enterprise.
  • Manage, monitor and report the status of AI/Generative AI use cases and risk assessments.
  • Establish, manage, and monitor AI/GenAI related inventories and support reporting.
  • Execute on the ongoing monitoring program for identified Generative AI use cases, risks, and controls.
  • This individual contributor will oversee the operational risk activities with regards to AI/GenAI as well as other Computational and Automation assets, across the business in partnership with business line leaders, business line control leaders, and other second and third line leaders including compliance risk and internal audit. This role will work with other corporate and non-financial risk leaders and their teams to ensure the effective implementation of enterprise and operational risk programs by the business and driving the effective challenge process of these programs.
  • Critical to success will be providing an effective second line of defense including monitoring, testing, and operational risk assessments of the business to ensure effective risk management practices and strong control environment for the business. This role will also be expected to engage with business partners at all levels in the organization, escalate risks when necessary, and actively participate in governance committees.
  • This role may participate on cross-team Non-Financial Risk department special projects and ad hoc analysis/reporting to senior management on operational risks. In executing these functions, the Lead is expected to collaborate closely with other colleagues across Operational Risk Oversight, Non-Financial Risk Management, Corporate Risk Management, and other lines of business and corporate functions.


How You'll Do It

  • Maintaining and enhancing relevant procedures, job-aids, etc., to improve process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conducting risk assessments for AI Generative AI use cases or other Computational and Automation assets.
  • Leading the development of training content for AI/GenAI users in the enterprise.
  • Establishing and managing the inventories for AI/GenAI and other Computational and Automation assets, and providing ad-hoc and business-as-usual reporting
  • Executing the risk-based approach to independent risk assessments and oversight for the business.
  • Ensuring effective oversight of the business to drive an effective risk and control environment for the business.
  • Executing operational risk advisory and effective challenge for programs across the Non-Financial Risk Programs.
  • Participating in and engage with business leaders in governance to help drive a culture of effective risk management.
  • Updating status reports of program initiatives, activities, and non-financial risks to management and committees and escalate concerns and successes.


Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management.
  • 4+ years of experience in Law, Risk or Operations.
  • 4+ years of experience in first- or second-line risk, control, or compliance role in a highly regulated financial institution subject to Heightened Standards.
  • In Lieu of Education, 8+ years of experience in risk management experience in a highly regulated financial/depository environment with specific focus on operational risk management, internal audit, or related.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Master's in Artificial Intelligence or related field.
  • Familiarity with policies, standards, procedures, and risk frameworks.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Desire to build out AI/GenAI risk and Computational and Automation risk management program.
  • Tableau, SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint Administration (lists, website, workflows), Power Automate, Power Pivot, PowerBI.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and gain buy-in and consensus.
  • 3+ years of Risk management experience in a financial environment with specific focus on Artificial Intelligence, modeling, Model Risk Management or related field.
  • Experience with or deep knowledge of modeling, data science, or AI methodologies (including, but not limited to GenAI, neural networks, gradient boosting methods, etc.).
  • Familiarity with NIST AI 100-1, SR 11-7, NIST 600-1, NIST AI 100-2e2023.
  • Risk & AI Certificate ® or other Responsible AI-related certifications.

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $77,500.00 to $131,500.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
