What You'll Do:

As an Associate Principal and Product Owner in FRM (Financial Risk Management), you will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of OCC’s next-generation risk management systems. This person is responsible for discovering, synthesizing, and analyzing information from different FRM teams-Market Risk, Credit Risk, Stress Testing etc., including tools, processes & procedures, documentation, stakeholders and support analysts in building requirements for different Risk Applications. The ideal candidate is a proven change agent with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems through logical, digestible solutions that deliver key value to our stakeholders. Additionally, this individual must be comfortable communicating to all levels of the organization as well as inside and outside the organization. Skills that are foundational to the success of this role include, but are not limited to, communication, analytical, problem solving, process modelling, facilitation, elicitation, scope management, leadership and agile mindset.

Product Responsibilities:

  • Act as a partner to both the business and the technology teams.
  • Collaborate with different FRM teams to collect requirements for various risk management applications  
  • Identify scope gaps and missing requirements by acquiring an in depth understanding of current state (i.e., legacy system) and future state of various Risk Applications
  • Identify various risk teams inter-dependencies and support integration across Risk Platform
  • Prepare for and lead requirement workshops, discussions with vendor, stakeholders and product owners.
  • Lead requirements review sessions with stakeholders to verify the completeness and adequacy of requirements and use cases; assist in the development of acceptance criteria
  • Support or develop test plans and test cases; participate in test results verification
  • Assist in developing strategies for knowledge transfer and maintenance of risk systems
  • Participate in the final acceptance testing following product deployment

Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

  • Previous work experience of 7 or more years, building and working with pricing and risk management systems preferable
  • Understanding of the financial services industry, including pricing, margins, collateral, liquidity, and operational risks of broker-dealers, futures commission merchants, commercial banks, pension funds, exchanges, and financial market utilities
  • Preference given to candidates with understanding of markets and financial derivatives in equities, interest rate, and commodity products.
  • Experience with Agile software development.
  • Proficiency using Jira, Confluence, Tableau and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Preferred business experience in clearinghouse activities.
  • Self-motivated and self-starting; working with little supervision and picking up new and unfamiliar concepts.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies; experience working with AWS a plus.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in relevant fields including Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering among others
  • MBA, MS or equivalent graduate degree in a relevant field preferred

Certificates or Licenses:

  • CCBA, CBAP, and/or AAC certification is a plus.

Compensation

  • The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
  • In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
  • We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package as noted on www.theocc.com/careers
  • All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.

Salary Range

$126,400.00 - $179,300.00

Incentive Range

8% to 15%

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
