Job Title: Large Shim Operator

Job Summary:
The Large Shim Operator is responsible for operating machinery and equipment to produce large shims for various industrial applications. This position requires attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment. The operator will work closely with other team members to ensure that all products meet specifications and are produced efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain large shim production machinery according to company procedures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to ensure correct product dimensions.
  • Monitor machinery during the production process to ensure proper operation and identify any potential issues.
  • Adjust machine settings to accommodate different materials and specifications.
  • Inspect finished shims to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment as needed.
  • Record production data, including machine settings, output, and quality checks.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes.
  • Assist with inventory management of materials used in shim production.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Previous experience operating industrial machinery, especially in shim or metalworking, is highly desirable.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machinery.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical ability to lift materials weighing up to 70 lbs. and remain standing for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, on-site position.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
  • Availability to work shifts as needed.

Pay Range:

18.37 - 27.55
