What You’ll Do

Next-generation risk assessment – divesting away from binary underwriting and reenvisioning risk selection utilizing mega data, AI and curiosity.  Modernized underwriting using cutting edge technology to more accurately and quickly assess risk, price and bespoke coverage/terms in order to profitably grow and manage a book of business.

We are seeking a forward-thinking Director of Underwriting Innovation to join our dynamic team. In this strategic role, you will leverage data to inform underwriting product decisions, acting as a critical bridge between our Underwriting (UW) and Product teams. Your expertise in insurance and deep understanding of underwriting principles will help shape our product offerings and ensure they are both competitive and aligned with our business goals.


  • Data-Driven Strategy: Analyze underwriting data to drive insights, identify trends, and recommend data-backed decisions for product enhancements and development.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the liaison between the Underwriting and Product teams, ensuring that underwriting needs and insights are effectively integrated into product roadmaps and feature design.
  • Innovation and Market Trends: Stay abreast of industry innovations, trends, and competitive movements in underwriting and insurtech, implementing cutting-edge solutions that elevate our underwriting capabilities.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance underwriting processes and workflows, leveraging automation and AI-based solutions where applicable.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with senior leadership to align underwriting and product strategies with company goals, and communicate key insights and recommendations to stakeholders.


Basic Requirements

  • Insurance Expertise: 5+ years in underwriting or a related insurance field, with experience in underwriting innovation, insurtech, or product management.
  • Data Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data and apply insights to influence product and underwriting decisions.
  • Product Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working closely with product or technology teams to build and enhance insurance products.
  • Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive strategic change within an organization.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications in insurance or data analytics are a plus.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $170,000 - $190,000 (Pending Experience)
