McDonald's has set an ambition to become a Global Indirect Sourcing and Procurement leader. To make this happen, we are standing up a new Global Indirect Sourcing and Procurement Organization (IS&P). This organization will help McDonald's to better use our scale and unlock sustainable value for our company and communities. We are transforming our Indirect Sourcing and Procurement capabilities, processes, solutions, and ways of working to create One McDonald's Way of buying Indirect goods and services responsibly.
This role presents an exceptional career opportunity to join this journey as the IT (Information Technology) Software Sourcing Director/Lead. This role is a critical leadership position and will own the end-to-end global IT Software Sourcing capability, supporting McDonald's in its journey to becoming a Global Indirect Sourcing and Procurement leader.
Reporting to the Sr. Director, IT Sourcing Lead, the role is responsible for development of the global IT Software sourcing strategy, focused on improving McDonald's investments via best-in-class sourcing across IT Software. It is expected that this role works closely with Global executive partners to understand their requirements, provide recommendations and drive innovation to ultimately propel the business forward.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for IT Software, ensuring alignment with the broader business goals and objectives of McDonald's.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Competitively source through engagement of strategic suppliers (i.e., RFx) and application of industry knowledge. Ensure all sourcing projects have clear objectives including financial and operational benefits, aligned with business partners
  • Team Support & Development: Guide and mentor a high-performing sourcing team, setting clear goals, providing development opportunities, and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with key internal partners to understand business needs and create tailored sourcing strategies that deliver value across the McDonald's global organization.
  • Category Leadership Support: Lead the development and execution of strategic category plans, finding opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process optimization within the sub-categories.
  • Savings Identification & Tracking: Accountable for driving annual savings within the category through demonstrating market intelligence analysis. Includes the identification of savings opportunities & valuation and ongoing monitoring / reporting of saving initiatives (e.g., by vendor / category)
  • Negotiation & Contract Management: Support negotiations to ensure favorable contract terms that meet business requirements and assist with the execution of complex agreements and SLAs.
  • Drive Innovation: Contribute to sourcing initiatives that drive innovation, cost savings, and operational efficiency in line with the company's broader business strategies.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Partner with Enterprise teams to ensure sourcing strategies and supplier relationships align with McDonald's compliance requirements and risk management frameworks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement efforts, evaluating sourcing processes, performance metrics, and benchmarks to optimize sourcing outcomes.
  • Performance Motivation: Assist in identifying training needs and growth opportunities within the team, ensuring the development of future sourcing leaders and building a best-in-class function.

The expected salary range for this role is $ 168,350 - $ 218,860 per year

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year degree, MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in sourcing in a highly complex environment and Global landscape
  • 3+ years experience leading teams and managing multiple projects
  • Experience in conducting influential discussions with executive leaders
  • Skills: Strategic Thinking, Executive Presence / Communications, Collaborator Management, Vendor Management, Advanced Sourcing, Contracting Knowledge, Mentoring and Coaching, Project Management
