Job Description

The Director, Human Resources is the strategic HR Partner supporting our FBIN enterprise-wide projects and Initiatives. This thought partner will provide strategic and comprehensive HR support to deliver on our organization’s transformation agenda and strategies. This role will provide expertise, support and advice on key business decisions and initiatives by establishing credibility, leveraging strong working relationships, and demonstrating business understanding to ensure an effective and collaborative strategic partnership.

Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Act as an internal consultant/change agent and work closely with senior management to identify, analyze, and implement solutions for people and organizational needs. Participate in the facilitation, development/implementation of organizational structure and design. Build out processes to support the implementation of initiatives. Leverage and analyze data to inform solutions.
  • Serve as a critical thought partner, change agent and advisor to teams of leaders and associates; demonstrate strong executive coaching and influencing skills to enhance organizational performance, effectiveness, and new ways of working.
  • Facilitate effective organizational design and own workforce planning to support business and market changes; partner with leaders to define and implement changes and enhancements to optimize organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and change management expertise. Develop and implement solutions to organizational challenges by leading/coaching others through change.
  • Actively participate as a leader or team member with the commercial and core function HR leaders and centers of excellence to further the HR agenda including: organization effectiveness, compensation, benefits, employee relations, HR operations, HR technology, and talent management
  • Anticipate and lead scaled change programs required to evolve the organization.  
  • Champion and drive a culture that drives alignment and accountability and embraces agile ways of working.

 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field, MBA preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in HR with generalist background, with 5+ years of experience in an HR leadership role, building relationships with senior leaders and serving as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders.
    • Demonstrated organizational development experience – aligning structure, people, process and reward systems with business strategy; experience supporting transformational change.
    • Demonstrated ability to hire, inspire, engage and develop talent.
    • Experience within a large, geographically dispersed, multi-site organization.
    • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
    • Knowledge of agile principles, practices and methods with practical experience of servant-leadership in an agile team preferred.

    Additional Information

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $140,000 USD - $220,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
