About the Role

A Dedicated Tour Planner is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of operations for a subset of trucks within our dedicated fleet. This role focuses on optimizing routes, ensuring on-time performance, and maximizing operational efficiency while adhering to customer-specific requirements and compliance regulations. 

What the Candidate Will Do

  • Plan and Execute Operations: Develop and implement efficient plans for a subset of trucks within the UF Dedicated Fleet to meet operational goals. 
  • Driver Communication: Maintain daily communication with drivers to ensure routes are being executed as planned, address concerns, and ensure high performance. 
  • Route Optimization: Use UF's load boards and planning software to create profitable and deliverable routes that align with customer and operational needs. 
  • Collaboration with Account Managers: Work closely with UF Account Managers to provide fleet updates, track performance, and identify opportunities for backhauls. 
  • KPI Management: Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) including driver productivity, on-time performance, and revenue. 
  • Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve any operational challenges or delays that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to service. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: At least 3 years in the transportation industry. 
  • Asset Management: At least 3 years of experience managing transportation assets (trucks, trailers, etc.). 
  • Planning Experience: A minimum of 3 years in planning and route optimization. 
  • Technology Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft tools and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Dedicated Fleet Operations: At least 5 years in the transportation industry, with a focus on dedicated fleet operations. 
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical proficiency in transportation management software and planning tools. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for managing logistics challenges. 
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to work with drivers and internal teams. 


Benefits & Compensation for U.S. Employees

Employees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and more.  US based employees may also be eligible for a performance or sales incentive bonus program, participation in Uber Freight equity awards, and other types of compensation depending upon the role.

Illinois: The salary range for this role is $47,150 to $57,500 a year.
