About the Role
The Decision Science team at Glassdoor is pivotal in driving strategy and decision-making across the company through predictive analytics, testing, and optimization. We tackle a broad spectrum of challenges by proactively identifying opportunities, prioritizing product and marketing initiatives, and shaping business strategy. As a Data Scientist for Search and Navigation team, you will provide insights and recommendations to improve our user experience and retention, support efforts to expand and improve our reporting, and lead the exploration and implementation of models to drive business growth.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with product teams to understand and address product challenges using machine learning, statistical, and analytical expertise.
- Leverage data to analyze and enhance user experience, converting insights into strategic recommendations.
- Provide strategic and analytical support to the product and engineering partners, offering data-driven guidance to optimize various aspects of Glassdoor Web and App experiences.
- Design and implement data models, tools, and dashboards to facilitate self-service data access and insights.
- Conduct A/B testing to consistently improve user engagement and evaluate new product features.
What You’ll Bring
- A commitment to add to our culture of DEI
- 2+ years of data science/decision science/analytics experience, ideally in an Internet company with experience in web analytics platforms and tools
- Proficiency in SQL, Python or R required
- Experience working with large data sets, modeling, statistics (descriptive and inferential), and A/B & multivariate testing
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and their applications in data analysis and business insights
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Strong self-motivation and a proactive approach, with the ability to ask pertinent questions and follow up with stakeholders to obtain necessary information
- Highly organized thought process and a structured framework for problem-solving, ensuring alignment of projects with company strategies
Compensation and Benefits:
Base Salary Range*: $96,400 - $128,000
*Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.
Annual Bonus Target**: 10%
**Bonuses are paid in 6-month intervals, aligning with bi-annual performance reviews

***Restricted Stock Units (RSU) are awarded at hire and may be refreshed annually. Additionally, as a pay-for-performance company, there are additional RSU grant awards for the very top performers.
