The AVP of Supplemental Insurance Development plays a pivotal leadership role in supporting strategic decision-making, driving financial performance, and expanding the reach of Horace Mann’s Worksite Division with our supplemental products. This individual will lead financial analysis and contribute to the implementation of long-term strategies that improve operational efficiency, enhance profitability, and support sustainable growth within the employee benefits sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models to evaluate business performance, risk, and profitability.
  • Provide strategic insights to improve financial outcomes and guide senior leadership decisions.
  • Monitor key financial indicators and deliver high-quality financial reports.
  • Identify emerging business opportunities and assess market trends.
  • Collaborate with leadership to design strategies for expansion and diversification.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with brokers, clients, and business partners.
  • Execute and assess strategic business development initiatives and partnerships.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis for opportunity identification.
  • Prepare business cases and conduct ROI analysis on new investments.
  • Translate financial insights for non-financial stakeholders using strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including marketing, underwriting, sales, and operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (MBA or certifications preferred).
  • 8–10 years of experience in financial analysis, business development, or insurance/financial services.
  • Strong track record of leading financial performance and business growth.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and results orientation.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Periodic travel may be required.

Pay Range:

  • $117,500.00 - $173,300.00  

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
