Job Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Project Manager level candidate who is interested in overseeing projects and interacting with clients. The ideal candidate will possess Phase II experience, varying in complexity for clients such as IDOT, Tollway, CDOT and local agencies. The position would require 5 days a week working out of the IDOT District 1 Headquarters office in Schaumburg, IL.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist IDOT personnel in the Bureau of Design for Phase II projects with various project management tasks.
  • Ensure plans for highway improvements are designed in accordance with department polices, specifications, procedures, and accepted engineering principles
  • Work includes engineering, technical, management, and project support to assist in bringing projects to completion as expeditiously as possible.
  • Coordination for environmental clearances, right-of-way, utilities and permits. Prepare agreements between IDOT and local agencies. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 8+ Years experience in Roadway Design & Project Management Experience
  • Professional Engineer License Required
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, Open Roads, and ProjectWise.
  • Proficiency in MS Office – Excel, Word, Bluebeam and/or Adobe
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Contract Set-up
  • Familiarity with Proposal Preparation
  • Experience preparing plans, specifications, and estimates for IDOT
  • Permitting Experience
  • Utility Coordination Experience
