Job Description:

We are looking for a talented and driven AI/ML Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science, with a particular focus on fine-tuning AI models and managing large datasets. You will work closely with our team of experts to enhance, optimize, and implement AI solutions that meet our high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Expert-level proficiency in Python, especially for AI/ML development: TensorFlow and PyTorch experience.
Understanding of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning, along with model evaluation techniques.
Experience in applying transfer learning techniques to adapt pre-trained models to new datasets.
Ability to fine-tune models by adjusting hyperparameters and network layers to optimize performance on specific tasks relevant to Bittensor.
Experience working with language models like GPT, BERT, or their variants
Deep understanding of model evaluation metrics (e.g., accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score) and how to apply them.
Experience in benchmarking model performance against industry standards or specific competitive baselines, important for gauging competitiveness on Bittensor.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and fine-tune machine learning models to improve their performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Implement state-of-the-art AI techniques for model optimization, including transfer learning, hyperparameter tuning, and feature engineering.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to identify, collect, preprocess, and clean datasets for training and validation purposes.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate model performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing updates as needed.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI/ML technologies and methodologies, incorporating best practices into our projects.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models into larger systems, ensuring seamless operation and scalability.
  • Document model development processes, results, and insights, contributing to our knowledge base and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in AI/ML model development, with a portfolio of projects that demonstrates expertise in fine-tuning and optimizing models.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis using tools like Pandas, NumPy, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of advanced machine learning techniques and algorithms, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and unsupervised learning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-experts.
