Senior Accountant, Manufacturing at a Glance....
The Senior Accountant, Manufacturing Financial Reporting and Analytics reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Financial Reporting and Analytics, and will support financial reporting and internal controls for manufacturing operations throughout the North America zone. This role calls for strong business partnership with finance, operations, and manufacturing contacts at a variety of levels, including corporate supply chain planning, manufacturing plant controllers, maintenance teams, and inventory controls. Key opportunities for enhancement include partnership with data engineers to develop Snowflake data tables and Tableau visualizations of key risk areas, influencing efforts with finance to simplify reporting and ways of working, and building actionable partnerships with the finance teams located in manufacturing facilities in the US and Canada.
What's on the menu?
The following are key projects that will be owned and executed:

  • Develop new reporting mechanisms, using Tableau, Snowflake, Power Query, Alteryx, or other advanced analytics platforms, to identify and effectively communicate manufacturing risks/insights for the zone.
    • Function as the liaison between data engineers/data visualization resources and business partners to ensure reporting mechanisms are accurate, useful, and become a positive return on investment.
    • Cultivate an ever-evolving list of future analytics projects to allow for timely budget requests and addressing risk areas as soon as possible.
  • Refine, execute, and communicate the impact to business partners on a wide array of journal entries, covering topics such as maintenance spend, supply chain losses, inventory reserves, and quality defects.
    • Provide accounting guidance to both accounting and non-accounting colleagues.
    • Define and implement process improvements for closing with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Improve the clarity of documentation and insights gained from account reconciliations and Sarbanes-Oxley controls pertaining to maintenance materials and plant journal entry reviews.
  • Oversight of plant financial controls to include at least the following:
    • Audit manufacturing accounting entries performed by individuals outside the North America Controllership department.
    • Participate in occasional plant visits to learn local processes and propose improvements for standardization and efficiency.
    • Facilitate periodic meetings with plant controllers and plant financial analysts to build partnerships and assist with open areas of concern.
    • Drive discussion and highlight areas of concern during plant balance sheet review meetings.
  • Review accounting policies and propose revisions or additional content to clarify requirements and guidance based on US generally accepted accounting principles and the operations of North American manufacturing facilities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Minimum of four years of experience, with preference for public accounting, manufacturing accounting, or analytics reporting experience
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, while effectively operating in a fast-paced, complex, global organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills
  • Outstanding analytical, teamwork, business partnership, and leadership skills
  • Experience with SAP preferred
  • Experience with Tableau preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to three times annually to various US and Canada manufacturing facilities

Office Collaboration & Hybrid Work Environment
