We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to design mobile software solutions for our customers and coworkers. Talented people join us from a variety of backgrounds, pursue ambitious goals through project work, and develop as technical leaders at McMaster-Carr.
What You Will Be Doing
Android Developers develop leadership and technical skills over the course of their career. You’ll learn and grow by:
- Owning features from design through implementation
- Rotating to a new team in the future to develop back-end server skills, iOS skills, and other different technologies
- Building technical depth and knowledge through learning groups, book clubs, and one- on-one mentoring
What We Look For
- At least 2-3 years of Android application development with Kotlin or Java
- Demonstrated track record of publishing apps in the Google Play Store
- Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and design patterns
- Experience working with APIs and third party libraries
- Proficiency with Android Studio, SDK, Gradle, Git, and other development tools
- The ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment to bring features to life
- Excellent communication skills and demonstration of strong ownership over features
- Experience with Jetpack Compose, Material Design UI, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics & Firebase Performance, performance tuning and profiling, and .NET (VB, C#) is a plus
Be Rewarded
The starting pay range for this role is $125,000 – $145,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible for Cash Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (DPS) contributions. The role may also be eligible for a discretionary signing bonus and/or relocation assistance.
